A site seal is a trust badge you place on your website - usually near your logo, on checkout, or in the footer - to show visitors the site is secured and, for OV/EV certificates, that your organisation has been verified.
Static vs dynamic seals
A static seal is a simple image confirming the site is secured. A dynamic seal is interactive: visitors can click it to see live details of your verified certificate and, for OV/EV, your confirmed organisation name. Dynamic seals carry more weight because they can't be faked with a saved image.
What a seal actually signals
- Encryption - traffic to the site is protected.
- Verified identity (OV/EV) - a real, checked organisation stands behind the site.
- Reassurance at the moment it matters - login and checkout pages, where hesitation costs conversions.
How to add it
Copy the seal snippet from your certificate provider's seal page and paste it into your site's template where you want the badge to appear. Because a dynamic seal is a small script, place it in your footer or a shared layout so it shows site-wide.
Where to place it
The highest-impact spots are your checkout and login pages, followed by the footer and homepage. Keep it visible but unobtrusive.
